About

Music, for me, is finding the eye of the storm. By answering its invitation, I'm driven to the edge of what I know, and right past that edge I find the deepest calm.

Lotte Sarembe is an experimental folk artist. Growing up in a musical household, she opened her mind and heart to a wide variety of musical styles from all over the world. At fifteen she discovered wine glasses as a musical instrument and started to compose for them. Her music is often perceived as angelic yet warm and instantly draws you into a bubble of mesmerization. Like glass, it can cut through, but also hold.

In 2021 she released her debut EP Nobody’s Fault, introducing a distinctive new sound that blends soprano vocals, folk-inspired songwriting, and the unique resonance of wine glasses as instruments. With songs that are both comforting and haunting, she explores depth and nuance, aiming not to please or conform, but to create a space of honesty and surrender; the eye of the storm. Her winding melodies are not easy to pin down; they challenge and captivate without becoming overly cerebral.

On stage, her voice commands attention with precision and openness, often drawing audiences into complete silence. Her performances create space for audiences to surrender to her vocal freedom, comfort as a performer and ability to connect heart to heart.

Lotte has already captivated audiences at Oerol, Amarte Wonderland, and Studio 150, and is now working on a new EP in collaboration with jazz/folk guitarist Ella Alise Ziriña.
